I just read the other
guys complaint about ViaTalk. Man he hit the nail on the head. They are very sneaky and hungry for money.
I had similiar issues and left the service for good. Lost money, but now I have peace of mind.
Here is how sneaky they are.
Back when I was using their service. I was just about at the point of leaving. They sent out this sneaky email trying to steal
Vonage customers when they just got
barred from signing up new customers as punishment for patents held by
Verizon.

Dear Customer,
You've been reading the news, and there is no better time than now to tell your friends and family whom currently use Vonage to switch to ViaTalk! For every customer you refer through your control panel's 'get free service button', you will save 10% of all future service charges from ViaTalk. By referring just ten customers, you will never see a service charge again!
To make things even easier for you and cheaper for them, we are running a promotion all weekend! We are now offering one year of service for only $179! Thats over $50 off of our regular annual price! Help your friends and family out by making them aware of this promotion before its too late! -The ViaTalk Teamhttp://www.ViaTalk.com
If you look at the times. You will notice this email was sent within hours of the news hitting the press. The email came at 4/06/07 5:44 PM and the article I found after searching that day was posted 4/6/2007 1:05 PM.
If that isn't sneaky, I don't know what is. If I were Vonage I would sue the pants off of them. Anyway that is my 2 cents. In the end, I hope they get what they deserve!
