Drunken Verizon Rep attempting to solicit Business Services
Have you ever gotten an unsolicited sales call from a phone company at your home or work? I am sure most of us can say yes to this.
How about a drunken sales rep? No? Well I have. Remember you heard it here at buyers-nightmare.com – and the facts don’t lie.
If you have read my earlier post, you know I don’t hold back when I tell my buyers nightmare. So here goes the story of the drunken Verizon rep… read and listen to it for yourself (see below).
Like most businesses, my work gets unsolicited sales calls and letters all the time. Thanks to caller id we don’t have to waste our time talking to these people just to tell them “NO, STOP CALLING” (politely of course), hurting their self-esteem.
Well not long ago, we got a call from Verizon. As usual, we let this phone call go to voicemail. But today it wasn’t just your ordinary call. It is one we (you) will never forget! It’s the call from “Drunken Phyllis” or “DP” as I call her.
I don’t know whether to feel sorry for DP? Or question Verizon’s business ethics? Or both? You can draw your own conclusion.
Here is the voicemail DP left us that day (click to play):
Now would you want a company that employees people like this handling any service for your business? I wouldn’t. The scary thing is we used to use Verizon for our business phones!
I even contacted Verizon and sent them a copy of this voicemail. Their response, “The attachment you forwarded is very difficult to hear or understand. If you received an unwanted marketing solicitation call we apologize for any inconvenience. If there is something else we can assist you with please let us know.” I will agree it is difficult to understand, but very clear to hear. Guess they were trying to sweep this one under the rug.
This whole thing leaves me with many questions and opinions about Verizon.
Why did Verizon employ someone like this to begin with? Do they not do background checks on their new hires? Or are they desperate for employees at certain levels of their company?
Did DP drink at work or was she drunk before she got there? If she was drunk before she got there, then why didn’t they send her home? There is no way that someone didn’t notice her odd behavior and report it. Her supervisor should be fired.
And why was she drunk to begin with? Did working at Verizon cause this or is this just a problem she had before that?
Remember you heard it here at buyers-nightmare.com. Where we don’t just get mad, we get even!

What a weirdo. I hope she got fired. Verizon has really gone downhill. Must be because of Voip… people switching away from them for a cheaper home phone, so less customers, less money. Now they go to shit!
